We bought a house and want your input!

The village of Roebling is a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Each and every one of its buildings has an important story to tell.

Your thoughts about the use of this house are important to us! Please share your ideas for the future of 101 Second Avenue and for new programs at the Roebling Museum.

Dream it.

It all begins with an idea.

It’s easy to imagine 101 Second Avenue as a space that offers an immersive experience to feel what it was like to live in Roebling as an immigrant steel-working family. But does Roebling need a historic house museum?

We are literally your neighbors now. And we want to hear from you about how we should use the property. What do you think? Dream big.

Learn about it.

Can you imagine Hungarian families living in this home? Labor strikes on its sidewalk? The American Red Cross distributing food here during the depression? That all happened.

Do you have stories about 101 Second Avenue or photos? Do you have objects that you think would be good for telling the story of Hungarian families who lived in Roebling? Who should we talk to while we do this work?

Do you want to help?

Grow it.

It is going to take time to do this right!

Our major priority right now is to preserve the structure. We will be raising money to support a historic structures report and our restoration work on the house. We will also be writing grants to pay for strategic planning and all the other things we’d need to get done over the next few years.

Want to make a donation? Or help us with renovation or planning?

We’d love to hear from you.
