I bet you’ve never been on a garden tour in a former company town!
The Garden Tour is coming back in 2022 and we hope you’ll join us. On June 18th, Roebling Museum is planning a safe and fun opportunity for people of all ages to get together and celebrate the beautiful weather and local gardens in the town famous for building America’s most iconic bridges.
We are offering timed tours every hour from 10-2pm and will also have a self-guided option too.
When the Roebling steel and wire rope mill was open and homes in the company town were leased to workers, many of the families grew gardens with flowers as well as food. The Roebling Company would sponsor competitions to encourage residents to tend to their gardens and keep their properties looking well-cared-for.
Continuing this tradition with our Garden Tour builds pride in our community and gives residents a chance to show off their green thumbs!
