What an awesome week with our STEAM campers this past summer! This year’s camp theme… “Water & Industry.”
Campers and their counselors explored their local community and the Delaware River, worked together as Jr. Engineers, and even raised the flag at the Museum. Our thanks to all othe this year’s camp sponsors; to our colleagues at SPLASH Steamboat in Lambertville; to our Camp Director Kevin Ott and our camp counselors Nick, Elysa and Alden; to our friends and neighbors Pierre Lacombe and Miss Phyllis Hicks for volunteering their time to make the camp a real success; to our Bridge (Civil) Engineer friends Tom and Nicole and everyone at the Parsons Corporation; to all the restaurants and the real estate agency that donated
lunch; to all our campers’ parents/families/friends; and to the campers themselves, who were AMAZING and curious and willing to explore the world of STEM/STEAM from day one of camp.
Thank you, also, to regional photographer and write/reporter Michael Mancuso and Trenton Times/NJ.com for this awesome video of our Roebling Museum 2019 Emily Roebling STEAM Day Camp working with our engineer colleagues from Parsons Corporation. They learned about and built underwater caissons like the ones used to build the towers of the Brooklyn Bridge and so many other famous bridges. It was an unforgettable day captured it beautifully by Michael’s photos, video and words. Click below to see the article, videos and photos by Michael Mancuso:
