10am to 4pm
Explore STEAM Learning at Kids Create: Pillars, Rafters and Facades! @ Roebling Museum
The Roebling Museum is ready to host another of its family-friendly programs. On Saturday, February 24, 2018, we kick off our new season by exploring STEAM – science, technology, engineering, arts/architecture/aesthetics and math!
Kids and their families will have the chance to work with Technology Education and iSTEM majors from The College of New Jersey. In honor of National Engineers Week, (February 18-24) students from TCNJ’s Architecture and Civil Engineering course will lead hands-on activities which fit both the theme of architecture and civil engineering, with a special focus on female architects and engineers for another national celebration known as, “Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day.”
Visitors to the Museum can also enjoy our fun-for-all-ages Bridge Building Lab, and participate in a STEAM-based, read-aloud, story time of the popular books, “Rosie Revere, Engineer,” “Iggy Peck, Architect,” and “Ada Twist, Scientist,” all written by Andrea Beaty.
Museum staff and volunteers will help children and their families experience a day of fun projects that teach STEAM concepts in new and interesting ways. More than fun and games, families that attend Kids Create can enjoy becoming junior engineers and designers as they learn, play, and turn STEAM ideas and concepts into tangible experiences.
Admission is $5 dollars per person. Children age 5 and under get in for FREE. Pre-registration is encouraged but not required.
Experience the Roebling legacy with your children, through STEAM learning and play!
