Explore STEAM Learning at Kids Create: Pillars, Rafters and Facades! @ Roebling Museum
The Roebling Museum, located in the historic village of Roebling, NJ, is ready to kick-off its 2018 season with another family-friendly STEM program! On Saturday, February 24, 2018, come explore STEAM – science, technology, engineering, arts/architecture/
Kids and their families will have the chance to work with Technology Education and iSTEM majors from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). In honor of National Engineers Week, (February 18-24) the students, from the Architecture and Civil Engineering course designed some awesome hands-on activities to fit the themes of architecture and civil engineering, with a special focus on female architects and engineers in honor of national “Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day.”
Visitors to the Museum can also enjoy our fun-for-all-ages, hands-on Bridge Building Lab, make and test mini-catapults, and participate in story time with ‘Miss Rosie,” who will read, “Rosie Revere, Engineer,” “Iggy Peck, Architect” and “Ada Twist, Scientist,” all written by Andrea Beaty.
Museum staff and volunteers will help children and their families experience a day of fun projects that teach STEAM concepts in new and interesting ways. More than fun and games, families that attend Kids Create can enjoy becoming junior engineers, architects, and designers as they learn, play and turn STEAM ideas and concepts into tangible experiences.
Kids Create: Pillars, Rafters and Facades! will run throughout the day on February 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is $5 dollars per person. Children age 5 and under get in for FREE.
