Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 10am-4pm!
Come build something great with us! Design! Build! Explore! Kids Create: Construct! is all about encouraging the spirit of imagination, innovation and engineering in our children. It’s a day of hands-on making and doing for children and families, including a lesson and demonstration with hydrologist Pierre Lacombe about underwater caissons, like the ones used to build the Brooklyn Bridge! Pierre Lacombe is a hydrologist with the US Geological Survey, who has investigated groundwater levels and saltwater intrusion in New Jersey for more than 30 years. His demonstration will give an “ah-ha moment” to everyone who’s ever wondered how those fascinating underwater caissons worked, or how “caisson’s disease,” or “the bends,” affected bridge workers. Caisson demonstrations will take place multiple times throughout the day on Saturday, November 11th!
Become a bridge-builder in our Innovations Labs. Experience virtual bridge-building, too with a cool computer-based game that will definitely test your skills!
From car-building to a paper-tower challenge, STEM/STEAM learning will fill the day for children and their families at the Roebling Museum!
Admission is just $5 per person (children and adults) to attend and participate. Includes Museum admission and all Kids Create activities for the day. Children under 6 years old get in for FREE!
Stay tuned for more details about activities scheduled for upcoming Kids Create dates in 2018! Explore the Roebling history and legacy, while experiencing some awesome creative play! Let’s make, create and build something GREAT!
